New Dan Kubin V3R Sidewinder update

"It is now our one year anniversary of our cooperative V3R effort. Based on what I've learned this past year, and what my customers have expressed, I've made a few updates to the V3R. First, you will now have the coveted DK thumbscrew! Secondly, I've placed the most crucial and misunderstood adjustment item, the shock bolt, on the front. Accompanied by a hardened steel impact bolt, the machine will be easier to readjust, and will keep its tuning much longer. For the A-bar, I used some tricks from the V7 to reduce splash and make it hit a little stiffer at the lower end. I also added the support springs to prevent spring breakage.

This updated version still has the same reliable and proven geometry as the original v3, but now revised and remastered with subtle differences to improve overall performance. This is the easiest Sidewinder to use. The differences, apart from aesthetics, is the numbered race wheel, a timing mark impact screw on the cam and frame (like the v5-6) and the o-ring notches on the bar for the optional silent stroke. In addition, I made a new spring-loaded screw-lock configuration that holds the tube effortlessly. The knock wheel is indexed to 10 positions, and numbered accordingly."

Machine specifications:

• Raw brass frame polished to obtain the natural patina it will gain over time and use.
• The renowned rotary plotter. Effortlessly sinks any size line just by rubbing the skin.
• The engine is the same as the Sidewinder V2-V4, which has stood the test of time. It has been a lifelong favourite of Sidewinder collectors.
• Vice-Lock it tightens easily on almost any pipe.
• Ideal for all varieties of line work or as a quick shader/packer.
• Timing mark on cam and frame to adjust the impact screw (same as V5 and V6).
• Numbered stroke dial so you can easily play with the stroke without fear of missing that sweet spot. Can't go too long or too short.

Machine configuration:

Standard needle on bar: wrap a thick rubber band around the engine cover and across the front of the machine to add tension to the needle bar. Thick rubber bands and Dan's Perfect nipples are recommended.

Cartridges: Wrap a rubber band around the engine cover and over the top of the armature bar to counteract the upward tension of the cartridge. Both thick and standard rubber bands will work, it will just depend on the tension of the cartridge membrane or rubber band to determine which rubber band provides adequate counter resistance.
